Northeastern Mindanao Mission (NEMM) constituted a thanksgiving program to honor the Association of Retired Adventist Workers (ARAW) members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Caraga Region last December 15, 2022. It was participated by approximately 60 retired workers who were once teachers, literature evangelists, office workers, and pastors that came from different parts of the Caraga Region.
Pr. Max Dante Obbus – the president of NEMM, encouraged the ARAW in his keynote message and said, “The Adventist Retired Workers are the modern Moses. And the Adventist workers of today are the modern Joshua. Modern Moses prepares the way for the modern Joshua as the successor for the same mission – to lead the people of God to the promised land.” He emphasized that the retired workers paved the way for the next generation of workers to continue the proclamation of the gospel of Christ.
The ARAW, though, retired from their workspace, they are still committed to continuing the passion of preaching the gospel to all the nation.
As Proverbs 16:31 says, “Gray hair is a crown of glory: it is gained in a righteous life.” Often when we think we’re at the end of something, always remember that we are at the beginning of something else. (Jun Jeson Ruaza, Communication Dept., NEMM)
