That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: For he makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth RAIN on the just and on the unjust. Mat. 5:45.
One of the texts that puzzled me before was the text found in Matthew 5:45. It seems that the righteous and the evil doers have no difference at all on how God treated them. Sometimes it comes to my mind that God is unfair. But God knows what He is doing. Human as we are, sometimes we will be tempted to tell the Lord that He will punish those who do not give honor and glory to Him and pour out blessings only to them who loved Him. But according to the text, God make his sun to rise on the evil as of the righteous ones. Surely, God wants everyone to repent and be able to recognize that He is really the one who sustained and provide for all mankind.
But time will come that God will judge the world and give reward to the righteous and punish those who neglect the marvelous grace He offered to all. We must be faithful to Him, for we know that God has prepared a reward for all of those who will be found faithful in doing His will. Yes, God is not playing favoritism, but He is the God of all, and ready to accept everyone who will come to Him for guidance, help, and to lead them to the path of righteousness. He said through John the Baptist, that whosoever believes in Him should not be lost but have everlasting life (John3:16).
Therefore, we should do our best for Him, doing His will till He comes. For we know that His rewards are prepared for all who will served Him best.
